Create an API key
Open Dashboard → API Keys, create a key, and copy it. Keys start with ubv_ and expire after 90 days by default.

Save the key
Open a separate terminal window and run the command below. Paste the key at the hidden prompt. Do not paste the key into the agent chat, and do not use Claude Code's ! prefix: it cannot show the hidden prompt.

Usage and billing

Clear costs, no surprises

Five free previews

About three seconds each and watermarked. The five lifetime previews are shared with the website.

Quoted before charging

Every full job is quoted by the server first and capped at that quote. Failed jobs are refunded automatically.

Per-second rates

1080p 1.0, 2K 1.6, and 4K 3.23 credits per second, rounded up once per job. Sources up to 60 seconds and 1080p.

Questions

Does the Skill upload my video?: Yes, to Unblur Video's servers for processing. If you ask for a clearer video without naming Unblur Video, the agent asks before uploading. Price estimates for local files are calculated on your machine without uploading.
Where is my API key stored?: In ~/.config/unblurvideo/api_key with owner-only permissions. It is sent only to the Unblur Video API, never to the agent's chat.
Can I try it without a Growth or Pro plan?: The Skill needs a Growth or Pro plan. You can try free previews in the browser on any Unblur Video tool page.
Is the Skill open source?: Yes. The Skill client is MIT-licensed on GitHub, so you can read exactly what it runs before installing it.
